Kathryn Thompson brings a wealth of courtroom experience and a proven track record of advocacy to The Jewkes Firm. She earned her Juris Doctor from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law in 2013, along with a Legal Writing Certificate, and went on to obtain a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Federal Criminal Practice and Procedure in 2014.
Kathryn began her legal career in private practice, handling a diverse caseload of both civil and criminal matters. She then dedicated nearly a decade to public service as a felony trial attorney with the Georgia Public Defender’s Council, where she represented individuals facing serious criminal charges. During that time, she built a reputation as a skilled and fearless advocate, trying more than 17 felony cases before juries and appearing regularly in high-stakes courtroom proceedings.
Her extensive trial experience gives her a unique perspective and strategic advantage in litigation. Kathryn is known for her preparation, attention to detail, and ability to connect with juries—qualities that translate directly into strong advocacy for her clients.
A native of Macon, Georgia, Kathryn remains deeply connected to her roots and community. Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys sewing costumes for comic book conventions and baking with her young son.
